    Playoff Predictions

    With a week to go as of this typing, the Cup Playoffs are upon us.

    I would like to see it all hang out, make your predictions for the Cup Finals. It will be interesting to see who comes closest to the actual results.

    Who wins the Cup? Who do they beat? and by what series score?


    I will take the first shot at it. I'll say that the Leafs beat New Jersey for the Eastern Title, and the Wings will beat Dallas in the Western Final. Detroit beats Toronto in 6 for the cup.

    In the east I'll go with Tampa Bay and New Jersey with Jersey the winner.
    In the west Detroit and Vancouver with Vancouver the winner. For the cup Vancouver in 7.

      Flyers and Sens for the East. Wings and Flames for the West. Flyers beating the Wings in 5.

        I say Tampa vs. Phillie in the east with Phillie winning and the Avs vs the Wings with Colorado winning. Colorado takes the cup in 6.


        ------ However, Montreal and Los Angeles have great wildcard potential.

          Los Angeles? They won't even make the playoffs. Leafs took a huge blow by losing Nolan. I think he's probably one of the best PP guys around, so that hurts their chances. I would like to go with Ottawa, but I'm afraid that goaltending is an issue. Eastern Finals: The winner of the Boston/Montreal series vs. Tampa Bay. Boston/Montreal wins. In the West....Wings aren't going to do it and neither are the Avs. Western Final: Flames vs. Sharks. Flames move on. If the Oilers make it, they will make a good run at it too. Dallas, Colorado, and Detroit have the best teams, but they have the least heart. The Sharks, Flames, and Oilers are a lot of guys who have gotten this far by out working the opposition. That will be the determining factor.

          Final: Flames vs. Bruins
          Winner: Bruins
          It's your turn this year.

          That is my prediction, however, I have a feeling neither of those teams will make out of the first round. But we'll see next week.

            Devils -vs- Lightning in the East
            Wings -vs- Sharks in the West

            Wings beat Lightning in 4 (get the brooms ready)

            I agree about the teams with heart, but after the snub and sweep in the first round last year, the Wings have their heads where they need to be. The deeper that the Wings go this year, the better they will play. BTW, the last time the Wings were eliminated in the Playoffs with a sweep, they won the cup the next year in a sweep.

              IF THE BRUINS PLAY MONTREAL AND GET BY THEM I THINK THEY HAVE A GREAT SHOT, PHILLY-NJ AND TORONTO-OTTAWA SEREIES WILL KNOCK OFF 2 VERY GOOD TEAMS. TB WILL GET BY FIRST ROUND THEN SAY TB-OTTAWA AND BRUINS-PHILLY AND IT IS STILL TOUGH TO PICK A WINNER.

              BRUINS AGAINST COLORADO OR CANUCKS WITH BRUINS IN 6
