Who invented Hockey ???

My son has a project for school and we cant seem to find the name of the person who invented Hockey?

unlike Basketball there is no 1 person who invented the game. That question is the source of great debate, I doubt you'll get a clean answer without debate.

- It was founded by the mic mac Indians
- It started in New Brunsick
- It started in Quebec
- It is a new form of game that came from England
- I think there are other theories.... Thats all I can think of right now.

kk hockey was invented in the 1850s!!! happy? i'm 13, i went to google, and typed a couple of words, and boom, and you should be able to.. 1850s, that was when hockey was invented, dun know by who tho. remember i'm a 13 year old kid and i got this answer.. pfft

Dude I don't think its that simple. There are traces of a hockey type sport played by the Greeks long before then. Then just look at England and well it just isn't one person. Of course when I was 13 I thought I knew it all but now that I am 14 I have seen the error in my ways.

no one person invented hockey. It evolutionized over time, from todays game to early Atlantic Canada and Quebec, to Great Britain, to other european links.

Take North American Football for example, early settlers coming here, brought their game of Rugby. some rules were changed and over alittle time, a new game was created. Infact Canada created their version, and the U.S. created their version. I believe this is similar to what happened to Hockey, only the rules changes weren't so immediate.
